The upcoming Margo Guryan demos CD has just been sequenced and mastered, and
we can't wait for the world to hear it! It contains 25 demos recorded by Margo from the 60's up until now. We're planning a fall release, and you'll be the first to know when we have an exact date.

Work has been continuing on the Mello Cads debut CD tentatively entitled "Soft as a Rock". The first 5 songs have been completed, and the legendary songwriter/performer Paul Williams came in to the studio last week to lay down vocals on the Cads' version of "The Drifter". Other contributors to the record so far include LA pop heroes Probyn Gregory (Wondermints, Brian Wilson), Lisa Jenio (Candypants), Bruce Witkin (Vanessa Paradis, Adam Ant), Kim Fox, and of course our own Linus of Hollywood. The rest of the album will be completed this fall and we expect many more exciting guest appearances.

In other news, Linus of Hollywood will be a guest DJ on KCSN in Northridge, CA this Saturday at midnight PST. You can tune in on the web at http://www.kcsn.org. He will be talking about his new record, "Let Yourself Be Happy", and spinning some of his favorite music. Hope you enjoy it!

Happy New Year! 2000 was a fantastic year, and we hope to make 2001 even better!
We now have an official release date for Linus of Hollywood's new CD "Let Yourself Be Happy": March 20th, 2001. Here's a snippet from the press release:

"...this new CD contains 11 tracks of 60's influenced pop including 2 somewhat unusual (for this genre) cover songs: Ozzy Osbourne's "Goodbye To Romance" and the influential punk band Smoking Popes' "Need You Around" -- both done in Linus' unique colorful style. Recording in his home studio, Linus also experiments with various recording and arranging techniques including one song ("Thank You For Making Me Feel...Better") recorded using only beer bottles and vocals, and another song ("Where Are You?") written around the drone of a ringing telephone..."

We've added the record to Linus' artist page and sound clips will be up soon. The new tracks will also be added to Franklin Castle Radio in the near future, so stay tuned!

In related news, Linus is going back to Japan at the end of January to promote "Let Yourself Be Happy" there, and he will be playing in-stores and concerts in both Tokyo and Osaka. Upon returning, he'll be playing gigs around LA and gearing up for a US tour later this year. As always, be sure to check www.linusofhollywood.com for the latest info!

The album has been remastered and we've included 3 bonus demos that until now have never been released! The CD comes in a snazzy digipak with a 12 page full-color booklet, which includes a bio, lyrics, and liner notes by Linus of Hollywood, Darian from the Wondermints, David Bash, and David Rosner. Keep posted to this page for more info, and until then be sure to check out Margo's sound clips in the artist section.

We're also happy to announce that we've signed the Mello Cads, a fantastic Los Angeles soft pop combo! To get a taste of the Cads, go to their artist page and click on their sound clips. We're thrilled to have them in our family!

Meanwhile, Linus of Hollywood is in the studio putting the finishing touches on the follow up to "Your Favorite Record."
