Borrowing the words
of legendary architect Philip Johnson, Wisely's
music is best described as "strange and familiar".
It's a combination of innovation and influence
that makes his songwriting so stunning. Wisely
began his musical journey in Minneapolis smitten
with Simon & Garfunkel, The Beatles, Prince, and
David Bowie. These iconoclastic influences spurred
him to write, record and perform in his own exaggerated
style, releasing in the late 90's two widely acclaimed
CDs, "She" and "Turbosherbet". Wisely has also
scored for film (Tromeo and Juliet), and acted:
on stage (Lovelace The Musical, Cradle Will Rock),
in film (Auto Focus), and on television (Six Feet
Under). Now based in Los Angeles, he's been working on several musical projects with television's Andy Dick, and recently recorded his own "Parador" CD for with producer Linus of Hollywood. Franklin Castle is proud to bring you a sampling of his amazing works entitled "Go!". |
